The 16ER 2.50ISO thread insert is a general-purpose, high strength, external thread cutting insert for use in CNC lathes. It has a 55° point angle and a 60° flank angle. The thread angle can be set to 45° or 90°. The cutting depth of the thread insert is 0.3mm, with a tolerance of ±0.03mm.
This is an ideal tool for making internal threads in the range of 2-4mm. It has excellent chip breaking properties and creates clean chips that are easy to remove from the workpiece during operation. The material is widely used in the automotive industry, in particular for the manufacture like bearings, gears, and other industrial parts.
